  • #1 Internet.  At any given time there are over 400,000 gowns for sale on ebay alone Not to mention the knock off gowns and the internet only shops as well.The internet doesn’t have to pay rent. It doesn’t have to pay employees, nor risk buying stock and maintaining inventory
  • #2 problem- Girls want to shop on price. Let’s face it, many times we carry the same lines and the girls have done their research to figure this out.
  • #3 problem Girls who want to use us as a closet.These are the worst as they take our time and our energy with no chance or intention of ever buying. In fact these Brides are just collecting information for free and in the process, cost you money.

Let’s look at each of these problems and how they can potentially affect you

All three problems have the great potential of being able to affect your attitude-which  is the most dangerous struggle. When you lose your drive, it affects everything. Not to mention, it makes life a struggle for all those around you.

You have to pay the same costs and expenses to get your website functional and seen on top of that is your advertising bill. Because these brides are at the very top of the Buying food chain, or in other words, they start spending money with either the gown or the reception. Because you’re at the very top of the chain you need to invest heavily in marketing to make sure you catch her right at the beginning

We spoke about how the internet does not require the expense, the management or the marketing.It just requires being found (which your site needs to do the same).Problem is, getting your site to #1 on Google is not the primary thing you need to do, but it is the only thing the internet sites have to worry about.

The Brides who are the dreaded price Brides have always been around but these girls are much more prevalent and bold. While there are sales techniques which work you cannot make budgets magically appear for these girls so many times their restricted budget

will not allow them to purchase either way

As mentioned earlier there are girls who are just using you as a closet. These girls will take from you and cost you money We don’t need to beat that dead horse.

Most gown stores do not start to profit each month until they have sold their 20th gown. And that is each and every month. BTW- if you don’t know that number the number of dresses on average you need to sell to hit the break even point, you need too…find out right away

Maybe your store doesn’t require as many but to then have to deal with the other wedding professionals who want to come in and ride your coat tails by handing out their materials or asking you to refer them to your brides.

I mean let’s get real….I don’t blame them for wanting those leads for free (I would if I could and so would you) but the fact is, if you haven’t thought about it before, now you have and you now understand that those Brides cost you a ton of money.
